The song was inspired by spending time with my business manager’s brother who had lost both of his legs in Iraq to a roadside bomb. His family spent several months in the Fisher House while he was recovering. A few months after finishing physical therapy, he ran a half-marathon. He and his family, as well as all of our wounded veterans, continue to inspire me to try and not waste the freedom they’ve protected for me. Happy Memorial Day! I appreciate all of you so much.
