starbucksOne of my most favorite places in the world is the drive-thru coffee house. The biggest reason for this, besides the convenience of getting the Aromatic Elixir of the Gods in a disposable 20 ounce cup, is the opportunity to cheaply and anonymously affect someone’s day in a positive manner. I’ll call this little pay-it-forward trick, “coffeehouse kindness.”

It goes like this: Once I get my coffee & depending on how rich I’m feeling, I will hand the cashier my debit card & say, “Pay for the car/cars behind me.” I will then collect my card & drive away before the people behind me ever know what hit them. It’s fun, relatively cheap, & it always leaves me feeling good.

Try it the next time you’re at your neighborhood Starbucks drive-thru and see if you don’t drive away feeling amazing too.
